Fashion Monitor's Beauty Lounge at the Mayfair Hotel London Fashion Week 2014

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Fashion Monitor’s Beauty Lounge at the Mayfair Hotel, London. The lounge was set up for busy bloggers and journalists who visit the designer shows over London Fashion Weekend, as a place to relax and enjoy some super-dupper treatments. The treatments on offer included makeovers by Bourjois, using their latest collection, Barry M’s nail bar, and a professional hair stylist team from Vidal Sassoon, showing the latest 'hot off the catwalk' styles.

I couldn’t wait to get glammed up… and boy was I the luckiest teen in town! Firstly, I had a stunning makeover by a backstage Bourjois artist, fresh from the Orla Kiely show. The makeup she did on me focused on the eyes using Bourjois’ new Quad Eyeshadow in shade Upside Down Brown. I adore this smokey eye effect, which is really easy to re-create and perfect for a girls night out! The brilliant cream to powder texture is densely pigmented, creating a sculpted smoked effect, seen on my favourite style icons Cara Delevigne, Barbara Palvin, Suki Waterhouse to name a few…There is a fourth shade in the palette that works to transform your smokey eye look from day to night, by layering over a shimmer finish topcoat shadow. These clever palettes are launching next month with a wide range of colours, costing only £7.99, what a bargain!

Sasson’s teams of stylists were on hand to groom the guest’s hair into a sassy style. They were show casing their professional styling range, including essential products to make hair styling effective. I opted for twisted curls; sections of my hair were tonged and finished off with Sasson’s Edit Hold hair spray; an amazingly light finishing spray which added a lovely shine without any stiffness. I absolutely love this product; it didn’t feel like I had anything on my hair. It also had a lasting hold (unlike most of the hairsprays I’ve tried) To top it all off, their collection smelt divine and I even got to take home Sasson’s Illuminating mini conditioner for coloured hair and Heat Shape protective styling spray. I love this brand, and I can’t wait to test out more of the range.

To create sassy curls you need:
·      Sasson’s Professional Edit Hold hair spray, £14.89
·      Curling tongs

You can buy Vidal Sassoon’s products online here: www.sassoon.com

Barry M’s new Gelly High-Shine Autumn/Winter range featured lilac purples and mustard yellows. I loved their new Matte Topcoat polish, as if by magic, turning any nail polish into a matte colour. This is definitely on trend and I will be using this product a lot!

Food, drinks and treats were also available throughout the evening (to my delight!), and the wonderful waitresses went out their way to ensure that all guests were spoilt for choice!

We ate:
·      Mini fish and chips
·      Mini calamari and chips
·      Mushroom, goats cheese and asparagus tasters
·      Little beef tasters
·      Tomato and mozzarella balls
·      Yogland Frozen yogurt
·      Propercorn Popcorn (flavours including Sour Cream and Chive, Sweet and Salty, and Worcester Sauce and Sundried Tomatos all under 129 calories!)
·      Green and Blacks mini chocolates

We drank:
·      Scavi and Ray Proscecco
·      ViVid Matcha Grape and Elderflower or Pear and Rubarb natural vitality drinks.
·      A choice of teas (herbal, English breakfast)
·      Orange or apple juice

Me with my yummy Yogland Frozen Yoghurt

The food was AMAZING (compliments to the chef!), especially one of my fave snacks, Yogland's frozen yoghurt, with no added sugar and high protein content, which is great for sporty people like me! I tried the 'natural' flavour, which was delicious tasting light and creamy, i will definitely be checking out the other flavours and this brand in store.

The savory mini fish and chips, as well as the tomato and mozzarella balls just melt in your mouth. The Propercorn popcorn is a very yummy, and healthy snack to keep you on the go, and of course, Green and Blacks mini chocolates are scrumptious. All the drinks are delicious... especially ViVid's Grape and Elderflower natural vitality juice.

The atmosphere was very chilled. You could relax on the comfy sofas, whilst watching live footage of designer shows from the catwalks at Somerset House. How cool is that? The hotel suite was comfortable with a  funky bright pink master bed as a focal point. The perfect setting for this year's Fashion set! Looking forward to next season.

Bourjois at Orla Kiely's SS15 Collection

Today, I was lucky enough to be invited backstage with my fave makeup brand, Bourjois at Orla Kiely’s spring/summer 2015 collection, during London Fashion Week 2014. The films ‘Le Bonheur’ and ‘Daises’ inspired this wonderful collection. Bourjois created a stunning 60’s inspired makeup look: Twiggy style eyes, long lashes and chalky apricot lips. Here’s a glimpse at next seasons trend:

I couldn't help but have a cheeky photo with a large pink flower!

To achieve the look you need:
·      Bourjois’ Healthy Mix Serum (£10.99) (my fave) and Healthy Balance Powder, (£7.99) to create a semi-matte skin.
·      Eyes are highlighted with Bourjois’ new Quad Eyeshadow in ‘Over Rose’-soft rose shade applied to eyelids, and dark brown on the upper lash line to give a smoky effect- this will be available from October!
·      Eyelashes lengthened and defined using new Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara (creating a fantastic false-lash effect) (8.99)
·      Cheeks contoured with Cream Blush in ‘Nude Velvet’, (£7.99)
·      To finish this amazing look, Color Boost in ‘Peach On The Beach’ giving a beautiful matte (£7.99)
·      ‘Nude nails,’ using Bourjois’ So Laque Ultra Shine nail polish in Rose Lounge (£5.99) coated with a 1 Seconde clear topcoat.

                                                              Bourjois' products and the look

Very yummy flower cupcakes to tie in with the whole theme!

Bourjois GORGEOUS look, with the over emphasis on the lower lashes, creates a very cute and simple doll-like effect! I will definitely try out this look, as it is really wearable, and perfect to re-create at home. I recommend the incredible Healthy Mix Foundation, which is really natural and effective to base any look. (It makes my skin look flawless!)

I have to admit; this show was very cool and pretty! I LOVED how this wasn’t just a catwalk, but a presentation full of fresh flowers. This collection is all about ‘Flower Power,’ and the theme absolutely shined through, as painters drew flowers in the background while the models carried their own over-sized Daisies.

My Sunday Summer Outfit

London's weather is usually rainy and cold (just horrible if you ask me!), but, this weekend the sun was shining bright, and London's streets buzzed with people.
I can't believe it's September... How on earth did time fly by so quickly? Yet I'm still hanging on to the last summer vibes, before the oversized coat and boot season sets in ... I couldn't wait to have a fantastic day out with my family and show you my summer Sunday outfit, that, in my opinion, is very easy to adapt and wear in all seasons.

Me and my gorgeous doggy

Sneaky selfie!

My fashion mood board for this outfit.

Topshop midi rings and Orelia necklaces

I always like to jazz up my outfits with simple accessories; such as these cute midi rings from Topshop (which are defiantly on trend and in my opinion, look great with every outfit) I LOVE my blue stone and gold necklaces, which go with everything! These beauties are from one of my fave jewellery brands called Orelia. Their new collection is stunning: simple gold and silver pieces that just screams simplicity and bring a sparkle to any outfit. Have a peek at their collection here: http://www.orelia.co.uk, or in Topshop stores around London.
Although summer is nearly over, (and school is looming), I still love Quay's funky sunglass collection and I can't wait to purchase another pair; but they could break your budget, costing £30 🙊(on average). To top off my outfit, I couldn't help but splash out on a lovely bright coral, see-through clutch bag, from New Look.

My Accessories:

Necklaces-Orelia
Golden triangle ring-Brandy Melville
Funky Sunglasses-Quay (bought in Topshop)
Gold earrings-Accessorise
Pearl bracelet-Urban Outfitters

My Outfit:
Purple camisole-Topshop
Blue skinny jeans- American Apparel Easy Jeans (shade: Light Indigo)
Grey Kimono-Urban Outfitters
White chunky sandals-Topshop

Topshop's white sandals, £40.00

I really love this outfit, and it feels so summery! You can't beat this pair of the popular white chunky sandals from Topshop. They are very comfy, and go work best with pastel coloured outfits . I really recommend American Apparels Easy Jeans, which look amazing on anybody and work well with a pair of heels. Although they are expensive ( £66.00) they are a MUST for my wardrobe. A Kimono is a great spring summer cover up to add that extra lift to any outfit. Kimonos are a definite YES for all year round, It is incredibly feminine, very sexy, and if Venessa Hudgens and Alexa Chung can pull it of...why can't I?  Featuring on most celebrities at Coachella, this year's famous piece of clothing doesn't just give a festival vibe, as you can wear my grey and white speckled kimono over anything from jeans to skirts, and yet it still seems fresh somehow. I wanted to choose a plain-ish print to go with this outfit (although a floral print will also go well!) as it is a simple summer look. My purple camisole (that I adore) goes with jeans perfectly and works well with some cute patterned shorts or skirts.

I had a lovely day out in Shoreditch; sipping yummy Acai berry smoothies and delicious minty mojito cocktails (my favourite),  as well as having a wonderful Sunday roast. I loved having a relaxing meal with my family in sunny London.

Quay sunglasses, £30.00

I know that warm jumpers and delicious hot chocolates are coming up soon for this years Christmas festivities, but I can't let go of summer just yet!...so I'm prepared to let my legs freeze whilst showing off the last of my summer glow.

Have you still got the summer vibes?
