When it comes to partying there is one beauty look us teens look to perfect, and that's the smoky eye...I look to my fave icons for inspiration think GiGi , Kendall, the Olsen twins and of course Cara Delevingne!

The smokey eye is a universal look which suits everybody, making your eyes pop and look bigger! There are hundreds of different ways to wear a smokey eye, be it evening or night. I love mixing up my smokey eye, using a darker more dramatic one in the evening and a colourful, light palette during the day. 

From my experience, practice makes perfect and I think I have finally nailed the look with the help of my new beauty finds; the MAYBELLINE shadow Palettes in Nude and Blushed. 

Each palette contains 12 incredibly easy to wear shades, all of which can my layered and blended together. For night time statement eyes I prefer the shades in the Nudes Palette, these shades are dense snd matt, allowing you to build up the intensity for a smokin' hot eye!

I am loving the new Maybelline Baby Lips Balm and Blush, just landed in stores! 

So so cute, these new Baby Lips Balm and Blush are great for on the go. No need for a mirror, apply the hydrating balm to lips and cheeks for an instant sheer tint of colour and freshness. 

They come in four easy to wear shades, and my favourite has to be Flirty Pink, a rosy pink shade which offers a "just back from a jog glow," exactly what is called for at this time of year! 

What is more I'm addicted to these sweet smelling balms and at just £4.99 I will certainly  be investing in all 4 shades; Innocent Peach, Flirty Pink, Booming Ruby and Shimmering Bronze!! 


Yes To Cucumbers Organic Vegan Shampoo and Conditioner

My main beauty focus recently has been my hair...(as it is very VERY long) and I am always on the look out for new shampoos to try. I like to have clean healthy looking hair, which means shampooing at least 3 times a week - if your hair looks great then you feel great, that's what I say! On trial this week is the 'Yes To' hair range: 

I have been trying out the Yes to Cucumbers Volumising shampoo and conditioner, for normal to fine hair; 
'Yes To Cucumbers' shampoo and conditioner claims that they both contain 96% (or more) of natural ingredients, including cucumbers of course, and aloe vera. These two ingredients are very important for volumising and soothing the hair, which made me want to try these two products even more, as I love to add a bit of volume to my hair. 

Here are some reasons why I enjoy using 'Yes To Cucumbers':
  • I try to avoid any beauty product that has been tested on animals (as I am passionate about wildlife, and a part-time vegan). Therefore, I was over the moon when I found out that the 'Yes To Cucumber' range were cruelty-free (yet another BIG bonus to these products) 
  • The perfect product if you want to stay healthy the simpler way- As I have said, the 'Yes To' range is organic, vegan, and hypoallergenic
  • The next bonus for me is the size of the product, a whopping 280ml size is appealing as I tend to use more shampoo per wash to ensure my long hair gets a good and thorough wash and condition.
  • To top it all off, this range has a fragrant cucumber scent, which leaves the hair with a fresh clean aroma.
  • And the lather factor? After wetting my hair through a small application of product delivered the desired lather for a first wash, the second shampoo I followed with the fresh smelling conditioner, which instantly smoothed the ends of my hair.
  • AMAZING results for a budget buy, coming in at just under £5.00 each. 

All in all I say Yes to the 'Yes To' range! -  great value for money and the extra large size means it will last longer than my usual 100ml size brands.  I can't wait to try out the 'Yes To' body range next..


Tuna Tomato Pesto Buckwheat Pasta-(Vegan version and Gluten Free)

 Buckwheat pesto pasta has to be one of my all time favourite dishes! Full of nutrients and packed with flavour (it’s almost too good to be true)-this dish is very quick and easy to make; to bring the PERFECT end to a hard day at work…or in my case a tiring day at school. 

If you’re a lover of simple pasta, you’re going to love this recipe. It’s big on flavor and can be both vegan and gluten free--Plus, from start to finish it requires about 20 minutes! In my world, it doesn’t get much better than that.  I make this dish most friday nights, and I love to treat my family to a big bowl of buckwheat pasta; which is completely devoured within minutes. 


  • Tuna steaks (or aubergine/mushrooms for a vegan or vegetarian alternative) 
  • Buckwheat pasta (I prefer noodles) or any other gluten free pasta-spelt or brown rice is also very tasty
  • Spinach/ kale
  • 5 large handfuls of sun dried tomatoes
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • 5 large table spoons of pure tomato paste- add more depending if you ant it more runny
  • Basil leaves
  • Avocado (slice and place over the top of the dish)
  • Pine nuts 
  • Two garlic cloves
  • Vegan parmesan cheese 
  • 1 large Lemon
  • Salt and pepper

Here are some quick and easy steps to creating this masterpiece: 

Place the buckwheat pasta with kale or spinach in a colander over a saucepan with boiling water and cook until the pasta is ready. Put a dollop of coconut oil in a hot pan, and sear the tuna steaks until golden brown. I like to also chop up some juicy tomatoes and through them in with the tuna, to add a sweet and succulent taste to the dish. In a high speed blender (a Nutribullet works well) place the sun dried tomatoes, garlic, half a lemons juice, basil, pine nuts and tomato paste. Blitz until smooth or slightly crunchy if you want a bit of texture to the dish. Drain the pasta, then place them into another saucepan along with the tomato pesto and spinach/kale. Cook everything together on a low heat until the pesto is warm and the spinach has wilted. Finally squeeze the juice of the last lemon over the pasta and tuna steak, sprinkle it with salt, black pepper, avocado slices and vegan parmesan cheese before serving and enjoy!
